The head of the Lithuanian dairy association Pieno Centras has deniedthe myth that Lithuanian dairy products can enter the Russian market viaBelarus

"This is absolutely impossible today and no productsare exported from Lithuania to Russia. The only possibility is that somecompanies have purchased franchise to produce some Lithuanian products,"said Egidijus Simonis, the head of the association that unites dairy companiesVilkyskiu Pienine, Rokiskio Suris andPieno Zvaigzdes.

The information is confirmed by exports statistics:Lithuanian milk processing companies exported merely 717,000 euros worth ofproduction to Belarus in the first eight months of 2016, down from 1.6 mlneuros y-o-y.
