30.09.2016 Lithuania's hemp grower Agropro eyes exports to US

Lithuania's organic hemp grower and processor Agropro isplanning to ship its first batches to the United States by the end of the yearand is in talks on exports to China, LETA/BNS reports according the businessdaily Verslo Zinios information.

"We have agreements with tens of (US) companies onsample shipments and we are going to send out product samples shortly,"Agropro CEO Paulius Parseliunas told the paper on his return from the NaturalProducts Expo East trade show that was held in Baltimore a week ago.

"We are also planning to ship several batches towould-be potential distributors by the end of this year. We will wait for theresults and will start negotiations," he said.

Agropro's key export markets are in Europe, includingGermany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Italy, and talks are underwayon exports to China.

The company this year planted over 2,000 hectares of landwith hemp grown for fiber, double the area in 2015
