Since year 1328 Birstonas is known for it’s exclusive mineral waters.

Birstonas was first mentioned in the scouts’ reports of Order of the Knights of the Cross and was called a “farmstead near salt water”. There is no other place in Lithuania so rich in resources of different types of mineral waters. These waters were the reason why existing for 150 years by now Birstonas resort emerged.

So not accidentally in year 1924 in this place the first and now the oldest company of mineral water bottling was established. Today the plant of “Birstono mineraliniai vandenys” is reliable quarantee, ensuring the quality of production and allowing to meet the standards of Lithuania and European Union. Special attention is devoted to regular inspection of the quality of the water in own laboratory.

The mineral water, such as “Vytautas”, “Birute”, “Birstonas” have been bottled in this plant since old times and already have become the part of people’s everyday life.

Every year the enterprise invests in upgrading of information technologies and improvement of working conditions.

In 1999, after investing 1,5 mln Lt and introducing new production line, the production and bottling of lithuanian raw material based fruit and berry wines was started.

At the end of year 1999, a PET bottle-blowing machine was mounted; its capacity is 1250 bottles per hour.

In 2002 major reconstruction was carried out entailing modernisation of water bottling units, warehouse and plastic bottle manufacture premises. Investments in the Birðtonas plant’s modernisation amounted to 300, 000 litas.

In 2002, the company essentially upgraded its information technologies.
