18.01.2012 World Bank pessimistic forecast for 2012
World Bank made a statement early Wednesday regarding highly possible economic slowdown of 2012. World Bank has also reviewed several forecasts, including cut growth rate from 6.2% to 5.4% and for developed countries from 2.7% to 1.4% respectively. Astonishing forecast for the Eurozone countries was declined from 1.8% growth to -0.3% decline, largest downgrade amongst the ones made. Such position of the organization was explained by several factors, including sovereign debt problems in Eurozone, decline of growth within such countries as Brazil, India and other developing countries. Representative of the WB stated that incase Euro countries are not able to raise money in the financial markets, forecast may be worsened even more.
